"Social Networking" was proclaimed Best Drama Film of the Year and also won in the categories of Best Director prize went to David Fincher, Best Screenplay for Aaron Sorkin, and Best Soundtrack.

"The Speech of the King, who had the most nominations with seven nominations, managed only reward for Colin Firth, who received the award for Best Actor in a Drama.

"The Winner" won two Golden Globes for his interpretations of Christian Bale and Melissa Leo as "Black Swan" had to settle for just the title of Best Actress in a Drama went to Natalie Portman.

"The Source", which competed in four categories was no awards ceremony predictable, splashed by the expected irreverence of his master of ceremonies, the Ricky Gervais, and acute comments of Robert De Niro, who was honored throughout his career.

Gervais again demonstrated that not mince words and has attacked the prison of past drugged and Robert Downey Jr., the taste for parties of Charlie Sheen, and even against God, whom he thanked for having made him an atheist.

The biggest ovation of the night went to Michael Douglas, who undertook to present the award for Best Film in which he was one of his first public appearances after overcoming a throat cancer.

The night was not good for Latino talent who competed for a prize.

"Biutiful," existentialist movie filmed in the suburbs of Barcelona by Mexican Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu Javier Bardem, lost against any prediction for Best Foreign Language Film for the Danish production "In a Better World."

There was also no prize for the Colombian Sofía Vergara, a candidate for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or TV Movie, an award that went to Jane Lynch ("Glee"), nor to the Venezuelan Edgar Ramirez, named Best Actor in a Series, Miniseries or TV Movie for "Carlos," and finally saw how the award was to Al Pacino for "You Do not Know Jack."

The movie "Carlos" was recognized as Best Miniseries or TV Movie of the year compared to the apparent winners and blockbusters "The Pacific," "The Pillars of Earth", "Temple Grandin" and "You Do not Know Jack."

Another of the big winners of the night was "The Kids Are All Right", which not only achieved the title of Best Picture, Comedy or Musical, and also won the award for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical, which went to Annette Bening.

Could be considered unexpected victory of Paul Giamatti for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical, for her work on "My Love Version", since their chances had been in the shadow because of the dual display of Johnny Depp in that category.

Depp was nominated for "Alice in Wonderland" and "The Tourist".

Among the films that received an award at the Golden Globes were "Burlesque" which with its theme "You Have not Seen The Last Of Me" which was nominated for Best Song, and "Toy Story 3" with its more than likely win as Best Animation.

On television, "Boardwalk Empire," won two awards, Best Drama Series and Best Actor in a Drama (Steve Buscemi), but has gained prominence three Golden Globes for "Glee" as Best Comedy Series and Best male and female secondary interpretations, Chris Colfer and Jane Lynch.

Katey Sagal got her first Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Television Series Drama with "Sons Of Anarchy" while Laura Linney ("The Big C") and Jim Parsons ("The Big Bang Theory") reaped the awards for Best Actress and Best Actor in a Comedy Series.

JP Morgan bankers to share $10bn bonus pot after profits leap

Second-largest US bank JP Morgan beats Wall Street forecasts
• Improved performance in retail banking and credit card arm

JP Morgan’s investment bankers are to receive an average payout of $369,651 (£233,000) after the bank set aside almost $10bn to cover basic pay and bonuses.

The figures were released after JPMorgan Chase kicked off the US banking reporting season by reporting a 47% jump in profits for the last quarter of 2010.

America’s second-largest bank beat Wall Street forecasts, thanks to an improved performance from its retail banking and credit card operations. However, net profits at its investment banking arm fell during the quarter, partly because its bonus pot increased slightly.
