Thousands of Australians are sleeping in evacuation centres tonight as flooding
This email from a reader this morning.
I am an Australian soldier currently serving overseas with the ADF. Having heard of the tragedies occurring throughout QLD is very difficult for myself and all I serve with to hear and it pains us that we are unable to assist directly, although we know that our brothers in Australia are doing all they can.
To the people of QLD and the families of anyone affected by this unimaginable disaster, all of our thoughts and prayers are with you during these hard times. Know that the ADF will do all that it can to assist you.
To the soldiers currently helping those in need, your work is tireless and sometimes and seldom acknowledged but know that you are making a world of difference to your fellow countrymen and women when they need it the most.
We will attempt to raise as large a charitable donation as possible on our end in order to provide whatever assistance we can.
